Adams County Overdose Awareness Task Force
Education. Support. Saving Lives.
Formed to combat the ongoing opioid epidemic in the area, The Adams County Overdose Awareness Task Force’s Vision is “Education. Support. Saving Lives.” The coalition meets monthly on the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the Adams County Humans Services Building located at 525 Boyds School Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
The coalition is coordinated by Lisa Lindsey, Data & Prevention Specialist from the Center for Youth & Community Development, home of Collaborating For Youth.
Three-year strategic plan priorities:
- Priority 1: Increase access and utilization of naloxone to save lives.
- Priority 2: Ensure a continuum of care is available from early intervention through sustained recovery for every person in Adams County.
- Priority 3:Reduce supply of available opioids in Adams County.
- Priority 4:Ensure that all residents of Adams County are well-informed on signs of a Substance Use Disorder (SUD)/Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), treatment options, and recovery programs available in the community.
Adams County 2nd Annual Black Balloon Day: March 2021
The Black Balloon event brought awareness and remembrance to overdose deaths around the world and in the Adams County community. Thank you to all of the volunteers, York/Adams Drug and Alcohol Commission, Losing Lexus and Darryl, and to the Gettysburg Times for taking pictures of the event!
